Prices and availibility On
the top floor
you'll find 4 bedrooms, two double rooms , one twin room and one single
room.
There is a bathroom with shower and toilet and a small room with
the
washing machine.
Also on this floor you'll find many old features of the mill, all the old wheels are still hanging in the top of the roof. An enormous sieve that hangs from the roof beams used to sift the flour before it ended up in sacks on the floor below where the dining table is built. Dogs are very welcome please let us know beforehand if you would like to bring your dog. A baby chair and bed are available, pls let us know if you would like to use it. Read some reactions from our guest in the guest book Outside the mill there are plenty of places to sit an enjoy the sunshine. There is a shared terrace as well as a few pick nick tables and benches. Feel like getting away from everybody? We have 2 hectares of land, so enough space around the mill to relax, in the sun or in the shade, why not try the hammock above the river? |
THE MILL
The top two floors of the mill have been tastefully converted into a gite for a maximum of 7 people. Downstairs there is a wonderful spacious living area with open kitchen. The dining table is built around one of the mills old mechanisms, which was used to collect the flour in sacks ready to go to the local bakery. The kitchen is complete with microwave, fridge / freezer, oven, pots and pans and all kitchen appliances you need to make a delicious meal. There is a tv, dvd player and movies, radio / cd player, books, boards games, ideal for a nice relaxing evening in front of the fireplace. All through the gite you will find many original features of the mill. |
There
is a lot to see in the close vicinity, like the crater lake "Gour de
Tazenat", Gorges de Sioule, Meandre de Sioule, many lakes to swimming
or fishing, medieval villages and of course the volcanoes from which
the Puy de Dome is the most famous but the others are worth a visit as
well.
It is possible to go mountainbiking, horseriding, kayaking or simply enjoy the peace and quietness at the mill. The Auvergne is a walking paradise, the possibilities are endless, hundreds of routes have been mapped out, there is a map with walking routes and general information in the mill . We have four mouintain bikes for rent, let us know if you are interested. |

stream the Chalamont runs
past
the mill where you can
fish for trout or have a paddle to cool off during the hot summer days.
The volcanoes are covered with snow in the winter, the Montdore ski resort is about an hour drive from the mill. The nearest village is less than a 5 minute drive where you can get a nice fresh baguette there is also a small shop, butcher and a bar with a restaurant. In the bigger village of St Gervais d'Auvergne you'll find a small supermarket, bank with cash point, tourist information and a selection of bars and restaurants. |
